I could not believe that it has been almost a year sine I started this thread. 2014- Work was extremely busy, my youngest headed off to college, and little time for progress on the Olds. Mostly acquiring parts.

A couple of updates.

Tonight, I thought new passenger floor, new air saw, its time to install.

This is a two part lesson. Part 1. New Tools do not always work as expected. The two screws that hold the slide in my new IR 429 air saw, would not come free. Thus, I had the full blade, which I really didn't want to do, but in the effort of progress I thought I would give it try. Long story short- I made some cuts, but I am going to send it back.

Part Two- I took alot of time looking at the body brace under the seat to make sure that I was not going to cut into it. Laid out where I wanted to make my cut. Looked nice and square, easy to fit. Start cutting. Across the top from center to door, getting close to where I want to turn down the side, and it gets difficult to cut. Go up the side instead, it starts getting hard to cut. What it going on? Front body mount..

No major tragedies but I am going to spend some time welding a few of my cuts and filling in where I tried to use the cutoff wheel. One step forward, two steps back, but I bet I will not do that again.

One last thing, Can anyone tell me if this rocker has been skinned or is this how the seam from the factory is suppose to look?

Well, this is the last post for this thread. The reason, true to the title, I am about to repeat some of my prior steps, on the 70 442 I just bought. Fortunately, the new front suspension on the Cutlass was built with 442 parts. So a part swap is in order.
