There are two brackets welded to the transmission tunnel for the console. Then the bucket seats have what I'll call straps welded to the floorboard. These straps have studs on them. Both these items are available repop, I know there've been photos posted on this site showing what they look like installed. Try the search tool and if you strike out create a thread asking if someone would post the locations for these brackets. John

I'm doing the same thing on my '69,, the seat brackets are available from Year one or OPGI. If you got the seats, put the brackets on the seat, put the seat in the car, use one origimnal bolt hole ( will be obvious) , line up the seat, tack the brackets in , remove the seat and finish welding. The console, Depends on the shifter... the floor pan (hump) will have factory indents to show where the shifter mounts are to be drilled,, the console placement depends on how the shift indicator lines up,,, make up some mounts, I think these may be for sale somewhere also. The wiring harnesses are also for sale from Year One and OPGI, you'll need the 'console wiring' harness and the ''extension harness'' also from Year One and OPGI about $100 for these two harnesses.

What's wrong with your latch? Has it come apart or is it misaligned? The biggest issue i've had with these consoles is a broken plastic mount for the door hinge, which i "think" i remedied by mounting the screws from the opposite side (not exactly sure ... it's been many years ).

I'll be going through this process soon. I'm taking the buckets and console out of my 72 Cutlass Supreme and putting them in my Cutlass. Hopefully I can use all the parts from the Supreme and it's an easy swap.
