I just wish it was up and running so i can enjoy it MORE lol.

Did you get the X-over one or do you have a different one? And what headers (if any) are you using on them? I know with my hedman headers they almost touch the ground and it presents somewhat of a problem for that reason

Pics for the visual people like myself.

First 2 pics are how it looked after i took the manifold off.

motor together

Well spent the better half of my week making the GF mad lol. And the reason for that is obvious, more time on car then with her lol. But i feel my work paid off.

BTW installing a motor with no help = no fun at all....

You dork! It's always a good idea to go through a mental checklist before you start it up or drive it...or even better write a checklist and go over it. I guess my years in aviation have helped me to be thorough, or made me OCD.

Well I am missing a couple of screws from my engine upstairs as well lol. And yeah you Aviators are OCD like a **** lol. check double check and triple check EVERYTHING!!!!

Back on the car.... Went to the muffler shop to get the exhaust welded and they wouldnt work on it... MAINLY cause there was a gas leak EEK. Took it to the auto hobby shop and found out thefeul sender was leaking, not only that but some of my clamps weren't tightened either. All fixed now. Time to get the caprice up and running now since San Antonio is deciding to rain...

So Holy crap i was ballsy and took it on the Flower Power cruise. And i would like to say that i only had one problem, non-engine related. I would like to say that we drove easily 300 miles and she drove like a champ.

Now to tighten up the radiator trans lines to fix those leaks and GTG!!!!

I am horrible at updating this but here goes....

Car is running beautifully!!!! just got the Transmission lines in today and will see if i have time this weekend to get it installed. Went on another cruise 2 weeks ago and the next day i noticed my rear axle seal busted... There was a good chunk of change down the drain for other things ><. Main thing that costed me was upon them flushing out the old fluid they found that one of the bearings was busted. So got those replaced as well. Not much else done to the car. Right now it is my Daily driver and i am loving everyday of it.

Still havent changed the Transmission lines out and the lower radiator hose lol... Been daily driving the car since i sold the Caprice.

And since i had money from the caprice i bought all new suspension for the car. Will try to get pics up later but she drives like a top lol. On another note, speaking of suspension... My car is higher on the passenger side by almost 2 inches. And my driver side rear seems to be lower then the passenger side... Any ideas?

Tom, did you make sure the springs were put with the end of the spring in the locator slot? I don't know if it would make one side higher or not but it's worth a look.

Also, have you driven the car since you put them in? Sometimes it all just needs to settle. I know someone on here had that problem a while ago...but I can't remember enough about the thread to do a good search for it.

Could the Body mounts be a reason it would lean like that i was wondering? Seeming all the other bushings were shot then I am guessing that the Body mounts might be as well

Only update on the car is that i installed a radio system in it lol. Blue tooth in a muscle car is weird but so nice lol. And since i was at Best Buy picking a radio up my roommate bought a new sub so i got his old one with amp. So now it has 2 12's in the trunk that are tucked away on that back shelf.

Could be the body mounts . I also thought that the old cars get frame sag after awhile from having the most weight put on the drivers side all those years .

WOW i have not updated this thread in a little bit it seems...

Nothing too big to report. Swapped the carb out from the Holley to a Quadrajet. Also found an Era correct air cleaner, still going to be needing the pop top though. Changed out those white spark plug wires for red ones (since i took out the red ones from the Rallye i figured why not, looks better lol). But Honestly I have been spending more time on the Rallye since i am enjoying it a lil more and it needs more loving then the Hurst

Big update on this thread. I no longer own the Hurst. i traded/sold it in Nov for a 69 convertible that needs a lot of work, then i traded the vert for an 84 monte carlo SS that needs maybe a paint job.

Why are you sorry to hear that? the vert was in a project state and the monte carlo was in great condition. Went to my best friend who has always wanted an A body vert. And i have always wanted a G-body Monte Carlo.
