Its slow going now that the cold has set in, putting the final pieces of the engine together, longest most time consuming thing I think is waiting on parts to get here. Ive fallin behind on my schedule I was suppose to have the engine and trans. Done before the new year and yet I don't have either done yet

Ill have pictures up soon of where I stand soon.

like wise other peoples builds definitely get me up and wanting to get things done to mine, only thing holding me back right now is the very cold temps of the unheated garage :/

Foo - the motor looks great. Out of curiosity, is the water pump supposed to be the cast color versus painted. I will be detailing my engine soon, and wondered what color the water pump, oil pan, intake bolts, and valve cover bolts should be..

Some more recent work

Some small holes drivers side

Cut it out to find more hole

Closer view

More holes on the back

Wouldve been easier to cut the whole thing out but I went with this

end result of welding the plates in the 2 cut out holes

the front slanted piece

making new piece

some sealer and new bottem piece

put together

far shot

threw some leftover POR 15 in there

Front piece tacked

welded and cleaned

Back piece tacked, the angle was the hardest part of this

Welded and cleaned

Old brace, made a new one

Close to end result

I get tired and overwhelmed just looking at those pics. You inspire me because when I think I have it bad (a lot of work to do) there is always someone worse off. You are obviously in a war with rust and rot and just goes to show if you have the time, skill, desire and and a bit of money, you can do a lot. I admire your dedication, after all its been over 10 years. Keep it up Im rooting for ya.
