I know this subject has probably been posted before, but maybe some new info is available. I'm going to pick up a numbers matching 69 442 with the 400G block. I've heard a lot of people don't really care for the engine. At this point and time it's not running. Once I haul it down south, that's the first plan of action. I kinda want to stick with the original engine because it's original. It's gonna be built up to a protouring car. No AC, but will have power brakes. Gonna go with either a 200r4 or 700r4. I already have a 700r4 in my shed. WILL probably do a 3.73 or 3.55 rear. Engine will be fuel injected also. How can I squeeze 450 plus ponies and 450 ft lbs out of this Engine? I have a built 455 in my 72 442 clone, but it's only around 420ish up, but 515 ft lbs. It's getting an engine change too. I was thinking of using it's engine for the meanwhile til I can build the 400
