Parts car story!

So I bring 442 home from my son's place from having the floors cut out and the donor pan welded in. I left it sitting outside in front of the pole barn for the night. Next day while I'm at work a lady stopped because she recognized it. Left her phone number with my kids telling them she had some parts if I was interested. Knowing how hard stuff it to come up with I called her immediately. Her and her husband just happened to live less then 10 miles from my house. So I went to see what they had. 5 truck and trailer loads later I had everything moved. The poor guy was having eye trouble and couldn't weld or work on his project anymore. He took the car apart in 1977 and had been collecting parts for all these years. Boxes and of stuff. 2 sets of bumpers one core and one rechormed, tons of nice trim, complete set of new interior, couple of engines, 3 tranny's, original wheels, 3 complete dashes, glass all the way around, 3 sets of taillights, 4 grills, 3 tail panels, new control arms, bushings, steering parts and the list goes on. 7 am radios lol. He said take it all or nothing. Some parts not as good shape as other with pitting and such. He said he would buy something for and find something nicer and then buy that. It's was a Cutlass 330 car but a lot of the stuff is interchangeable anyway. None the less it got my 442 project going again. Looking back over the whole deal I thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share it!

Sometimes luck just has to come your way... And close to home at that... Just think, if you hadn't left the car outside for that one night, you may not have had such an opportunity...

Good story

A local advertised some grills i could have used, i went to see them but they needed more work than i wanted, we talked for a while, he stated he had to sell his 442 and he was moving, he also had a cellar full of various parts, i left my number and said if you cant sell all of the stuff text me ill come back and make an offer, 2 months later he texted i offered and 2 truck loads later i had a similar haul as the OP

I called a guy on Craig’s who said he had some classic car parts. I was looking for a driveshaft for my 69, and he said he might have one. When I get there he says “it’s in that van down in the field, but you have to take it all.” Which I had no problem with since there were 3 or 4 driveshafts, a complete 72 350. 3 more sets of heads, one set being large valve #6. (That’s right, W31, rallye?) Fenders, doors, boxes of small parts, bumpers and more. Big score. All for $230.
I went back the next day because he called and said he had more, 3 core supports and some more body parts. $75.
