I can't wait to hear and see the video copper, Sounds like it will be a fun ride for sure. I'd be happy with 70% of that power for the street in my 76.

That made my afternoon!!! Love it. What did you do to those #8 heads just what you posted earlier in your thread ? I was under the understanding I should get rid of mine.

Guys I'm following this up because I'm not done just yet. The engine and trans and all that fun stuff is all set to go. All I need is an alignment. I plan on painting it this spring so I gotta keep this thread going. I plan on changing color to what I think is called mist green. The car has a whole new attitude and I need a chance of color. I plan on starting sometime in feb. Hopefully the engine and trans I'm building at the moment will be done by then. They are just back up I'm building.

But you'll have to change your user name too! No, wait; copper oxidizes green so it still works. Looking forward to the painting updates.

You used an external photo hosting service. That's why I always upload my photos directly to the site.

Bloody PIA, the whole damned thing. I have no good solution.

You choose "Manage Attachments" on the "Go Advanced" page, then you can upload up to 5 photos, about 800x600 (the site will reduce them if they're larger), then, once they're uploaded, each will have a link on the "Go Advanced" page, and you can copy the link and paste it into the Photo window (), and it will show up in your message.

Oh . I been doing it like that lately. I used to copy and paste straight from facebook. I think what happened was I moved all my pics from my news feed to an album on facebook and once I did that they disapeared because on other threads my pics are all still up.

Yeah. That'll do it. PIA.

You'd have to go back and relink all of them.

Well today was a good day. I installed my carb after having it re worked and my distributor got re curved . It runs great. The transmission I rebuilt is working good shifting nice and firm and seems to be holding the power good . Got a little issue with the brakes smoking but I think it needs a minor adjustment . I didn't get a chance to pull the wheels and front drums off but next weekend I will get to that. For now I'm happy I took it out for a very spirited drive and it worked great.

Dane did an awesome job. The carb worked great right out of the box . I opted to fire it up with out the choke just becasue i didnt know if the the base idle setting was going to work but even with out the choke it worked great . The idle was good and driving it around i felt no bogs or any of that . The dist. works great and the rpms come in where i need them and i have 34 degrees total with an inital of 12 . Really happy with where its at right now performance wise .

Well today was a good day. I adjusted my brakes and took the old girl for a drive and she ran awesome. Not too long of a drive i still have a few more drives to make sure there are no bugs. Im really happy with the car and at this point im realy looking forward to enjoying it on the street vs. the track. Track times can come later in the summer i had a blast driving it this morning .

I thought i would update this. I been really busy and life has been a bit hectic. I have had the chance to enjoy the cutlass though. It still needs a few minor things and track times may have to wait as life seems to be in the way of that along with funds and a few things i wanna do for safety's sake. Its running great and it runs awesome. No major issues . Im just going to share a picture of where i was a year ago and where it is today and how it really is a great feeling being behind the wheel of the old girl . It turns heads everywhere it goes even though it's looks are not up to the standards i would want paint wise im not complaining. At some point this summer im going to start on the body work that needs to get done like the doors and trunk. nothing major but lots of block sanding and fixing all the dings it has acquired over the last 7 years . In the sun the paint thats still there still looks amazing considering i only buffed it once and that was 7 years ago and the flat black i laid smooth enough to look like satin . Not really that bad looking but i want it the original color , i want to stripe it and the whole trunk will be lace, paneling , and essentially one big psychedelic panel and the hood stripes will also have fogged lace panels. I have always loved that type of paint work and i want to do it but not over do it lol.

I've been wondering if the gray is primer. If so, the flames are a creative way to hide that fact.
Looking good, bro.

it looks grey in the pic but it is black it was a bit dusty and the pic quality sucks but yes the flames where a way to not end up with a primered door and looking like a hillrod . This way at least it looks like its supposed to be that way since the flat black look is currently cool i could get away with it until its painted and it wont bug me nearly as much.

Very, very nice. I like the work you have done after all the time, patience and with what you have to work with, example: car on cinder blocks and 2x4's.(construction) You had to put some thought into that, to insure it was stable and safe! Be proud of where the car is now! Again, thanks for bringing us up to date.

I forgot to update this thread. But i has a happy ending . Car went down the track a few weeks ago. 13.09 @ 103 mph. Very close of my goal of running 12's which we should hit with a little work. This is will be the end of this thread until i redo the body work on my 72 and get it ready for paint this fall that will have a thread of its own. enjoy the vids guys.
