70 442 3/4spd Post Rescue

Here is my latest long term project/rescue a 1970 442 3/4spd Rallye Red Post! Still wearing original paint. No paperwork so don't know if it was originally a 3or 4spd car. Has a 71 455 in it and a Turbo 400 of unknown condition. I am also getting a 70 passenger fender but guy forgot it at buddies when I picked it up. Overall it's pretty solid but will need lots of love to restore. Will add ram air hood but not sure about sport mirrors or spoiler. The car seems to be a basic low option 442 but did get the special order paint and white bucket interior with console. You can see in the pics some of the previous owners interior upgrades. ;-) Enjoy the photos

Those first pics look like they were taken in Yukon, OK. I love the post cars, I have 5 or 8 if you count my 70 flattop wagon and a couple others. Both of my W-31s and my 70 442 are post 4 speeds. Good luck with the project, I will be following.

Rick who? . Yeah I'm liking the post but more that's a 442 manual car! Always wanted one and makes me miss my 79 WS6 T-Top 4spd car.

Glad you made it home ok. I wish I could have pulled the trigger awhile ago on this car. You should have seen the seats we took out of the car! The "custom" interior is something!! Good luck with it. Maybe I'll see ya when you come back for the 67.

Yeah it was a rough ride home an I'm glad it's over lol. There was no time for social fun unfortunately. Dad will come down and get his 67 hopefully soon. Haha I can see what's left of the custom interior and its bad. Today I did pull some of my custom woodgrain off the dash to atleast find the dash was all cracked before they covered it. I pulled the rest of of the headliner and found some rust. It seems to be a great worst near the front windshield and visor mounts. Damn nice got everywhere on this car. Also took some time to crawl underneath it and it and found that the frame is really clean and the 4spd braces are still there.

Glad to see this thing getting redone. Saw this thing way back on CL and saw it was manual steering manual brakes stick car and special color really cool. Sort of the 442 sister to my car

No updates on the car just been gathering some parts that it needs. Confirmed the rear is a 3.08 peg that looks to be original. I'm going to drop the gas tank and hope I might find a build sheet.

Dropped gas tank tonight and found nothing. Sadly had been removed before. :-( What ever she was originally will never known other than the colors.
