Performance Chip

Has anyone ever tried that performance/gas saving chip that's for sale (all the time) on ebay?

I head it is made by Frito Lay. It is supposed to work really well.

I think it depends on what kind of chip. Most dont work, some work but you can make the same thing much cheaper with parts at Radio Shack.
