1956 olds a/c stencil help
Looking to install a/c on my 56 olds. I came across a set of oem a/c vents and center control but don't want to cut into my dash without a clue. If anyone has an a/c car that could sell me a stencil of where the vent go or has a junker and could sell me the cutout pieces it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Erit

You're looking for a pretty rare piece. Factory installed A/C was very rare in those years, and in nearly 20 years of going to OCA Nationals I have seen exactly ONE 56 with it. I've seen more 1953 and 54 factory A/C cars than 55-60.
If you could find a factory air dash in a junked car, that would be the way to go. It would save all that measuring and cutting. You might find one in a desert somewhere that would have real nice chrome! (Yes, I'm a big fan of Western used chrome, esp on impossible to plate potmetal pieces.)
I know this is the age of internet and Ineedtoknowrightnow, but try the National Antique Olds Club. If anyone has a factory air car, someone in that club will. www.antiqueolds.org , then go to either "Model Year Advisors" or "Contact" tab. Oldsfan, Starfire61 and I are all NAOC members and model year advisors, just not the year you need. Now, if you had a 61-64...

I have a 1957 olds 98 and just started on the dash . Did your 56 have a dash pad on the top of the dash ? I was wondering cause mine does and it is full of cracks and tears.. I was thinking I could just pull all that off and paint it.. The cost of a new dash pad is out of my budget for now.. Thanks
