Dashboard color - which green?
Hello, i researched many of the threads but still struggle to understand which color green my interior is. i think it's Dark Green Metalic but it doesn't look dark to me. can someone confirm from the picture? also is there a recommended dashboard/interior metal spray recommended? i need to spray the dash metal and the area close to the windshield. Truly appreciate it.

Yeah, the trim code is 972 which is green but is this considered Dark Green Metalic? I see many variations of green in after market interior parts/paint. Trying to avoid buying the wrong paint for the dash.

Olds used two different greens on the painted metal parts of the interior. If you are talking about the plastic parts and padded dash, those were not paint and you'll need to custom blend something to match. The PIM (assembly manual) will tell you which parts were which color and will provide the paint codes.

1970 Only Dark green metallic. As with other interior "colors" there are variations to the color depending on the part. Ex. dash pad is one color while the dash frame is slightly different due to one being vinyl and the other being painted. steering column is a different tint , in fact not even metallic. because of it being painted at a different place/time. steering wheel will be a solid dark green because it is plastic(bakalite)etc. etc. etc. If you take said part to a good paint jobber he can mix and match exactly all these colors. Just did this same green interior last year. it takes a lot to have everything look correct. BTW there are no good spray bomb matches out there.

On a '70 Cutlass or 442 w/the green interior......the metal part of the dash will be a METALLIC green paint.
You can go to autocolorlibrary.com and look up the PPG paint codes for that green.

My upper is flat....and also had plenty of exposure to the TX sun (car was bought new in TX, 1970, and I suspect never left the state). My lower isn't remotely close to being a semigloss. Maybe SLIGHTLY more sheen than the upper but far from a SG IMO.
