Am I supposed to have these?

I have a 72 Supreme and these are not on my door panels...should they be?

Dave,
Not on the CS. On the Cutlass Sport models - yes.

These are my door panels. Interesting enough they carried forward to some of the 80's series B bodies. My 1983 Ninety Eight Regency Brougham had them too. I think some of the large Buicks may have had them as well.

Heck no. If you ever wanted them just let me know. I have some in the shed that are fairly decent. But like I said, the CS didn't get those trim reflectors.

Interesting. Never noticed the Cutlass Supreme did not have door panel reflectors. Were the door reflectors possibly part of the convenience light package?

I also thought all Cutlass Supremes had the interior C-pillar lights until I saw them missing on a Supreme w/o the convenience light package. Also thought the chrome dash beading was standard on a Cutlass 'S' but now know it was part of an interior trim option.

I have seen the reflectors on 1970 Cutlass Supreme models. I had a 1970 Cutlass Convertible Pace Car in 1974 that had them also.

Anthony, no not to my knowledge. My car never came with a light convenience package, whereas most CS did and almost every one of them I've seen doesn't have them either

Very likely it was added by the PO. It's not hard to install. There are 6 small tabs on the back that get bent over flush once the reflector goes through the door panel. If you look at the back of the door panel on a Cutlass S there are 6 small holes for that. On the CS I have never seen that.

My Dad bought a 70 Supreme in 1977 from the original owner and it had the reflectors. My 1971 Supreme convertible did not have them.

Kenneth, I appreciate your comment. There were some changes from model year to model year so what it comes down to is whether they are appropriate for 72 CS. I know Robb Young (moderator on this site) bought a set from me and installed them on his CS vert. It apparently didn't come with them from the factory. I know the OP is trying to put his car back to factory specs so I honestly don't think installing the reflectors will do that. Anywho, that's my 2¢

I agree that I don't think they would be correct for a 72 Supreme; I was mostly supporting the post that they were used on 1970 Supremes.

Yes I agree with 72's not having them. My 70 supreme hard top has them. And it sounds like the 71's were a no go on the reflectors.

I believe 1970 was the last year that they were a factory applied to the doors and a slight correction there are 4 tabs on the back of those reflectors.

Good lord, GM used those things on every carline except Cadillac. Buddy's 64 Grand Prix and 66 Bonneville Brougham both have them and I've seen them on Buick and Chevy too.

I always thought they were a good idea. Something that may help keep you from losing a door on a dark night.
