72 442 convertible passenger vanity mirror glue

hi all - I picked up a replacement (old one was missing) vanity mirror for my 72 at olds homecoming - has the correct back “snap” for attaching mirror to visor - only problem is - mirror needs to be glued to its back plate - as this is a convertible I figured I’d better ask before I bust out the Elmer’s stick glue (joking) and watch it fly away as I go down the road - will the back snaps hold it fine or do I need to reinforce it somehow? And which glue do you recommend? thanks! ~ Joe R.

If you are referring to the factory push-in stud clips, they will hold fine. Removing them is the issue.

I didn't mention the glue as I can't remember what I used back in 1990. Maybe it was 3M Emblem and Trim Adhesive?
