Sport steering wheel horn button color?

So I removed sport steering wheel from 1970 442. The interior is blue (seats, console, dash, carpet, headliner etc...) I was cleaning the wheel and horn button and started to notice when I rubbed the horn button the black started to come off and it was blue underneath (same color blue as most everything)
I am curious if the horn button was supposed to be blue to accent interior color and previous owner dyed it black or are all sport steering wheels all black? (rim and button)

Thx

All the Cutlass/442 wheels were blackened the hub and horn button is color keyed to the interior. The smaller starfire wheel comes in various colors.

1970

In 1970 the sport steering wheel horn button matched the interior color. If your steering column is blue the horn button was blue.

1970 and 1971, the horn buttons match the column color. In 1972, all horn buttons are black.
