Hi Folks,
relative newbie to the site but not new to the Olds brand at all. Previously owned a '67 cutty, '84 Cutlass Supreme Sedan and an '85 442. After a decade hiatus I just picked myself up a pretty clean and original '70 supreme.

That being said I don't drive the car often as the drivers seat wrecks my lumbar. I have lumbar problems to begin with and the fatigued seats only makes it worse.

What makes a bench seat spring sag in the middle where you put your butt? I know the drivers seat is worn because I don't have a problem on the pass. side.

I would like to attempt to rework the springs myself as it's not rocket science just thought i'd see if anyone has some input before I dig into the seat.

On a side note, does anyone know where I can buy an original style seat cover? My seats are vinyl with a fabric insert. Legendary has a vinyl only seat cover. Is this something I can have a local upholstery shop make?

A good upholstery shop can do any cover you want and re-do springs. Their is also a member here that sells spring material in small quantity. (Rambow)

I can sell in large quantity too ;-)

Nobody else resells the medium loop springs that are needed for GM seats (that i know of)
I had to buy a rather large amount to hit the minimum required order directly from the spring mfg a couple years ago, so I'm set for a long time. I roll it off into 25ft "usable" amounts to resell from time to time...
