68-69 Gauge Pod Removal

I was not sure if others have run into this, but I thought I would pass on trick I came up with to remove the gauge pods on the 68-69 dash. Mine kept getting stuck on the vinyl wrap on the dash pad and would not come out no matter which way I moved or rotated it. I had two plastic discs used for installing automatic transmission pistons in the clutch housing. I slid the discs between the gauge pod and the dash pads, rolled the gauge a little, and it slid right out without damaging the dash.

Smart idea! I believe it is a constant problem when removing any of the pods in the dashes of '68 and cars. Most of the time I've just been lucky in being able to extract the pod I'm trying to remove. But I'll remember this idea when the process comes up again. It's a nuisance trying to free the pod from the vinyl!
