Wing window seal

Wing window seal
Hello all!
I have asked only a few questions during my time here.
My current issue, after washing my 72 I noticed on the inside of my quarter windows/wing windows that water was coming in along the bottom middle by the hinge.
Pulled the window out and the seal was crumbling to the lightest touch.
What options are there to reseal the windows? Is there a kit?
Attempted a search on the electronic-bay and only yielded results for 2 door post model cars.
Unsure if they would fit.
Has anyone else had this issue? What did you do? What options do I have?
Many thanks,
-Matt

Hi Matt.
Assuming you have a more-door Cutlass in the 1968 to 1972 range... If so, the wing window is taller than on a 2-door. I don't know of anyone who reproduces this yet. I say yet, because 4-doors are becoming more popular as the prices of 2-doors continue to escalate.
You could buy a 2-door kit, but you have to stretch the rubber to fit and that leaves some gaps that need to be filled with a flexible sealer. I used black Shoe Goop on mine.

Hi Matt,
I just got off the phone with Steele Rubber Products on reproducing the vent window seal for my 1969 Cutlass Supreme Holliday Sedan. The seal would be the same for all 1968 through 1970 GM A body four door hardtops. Unfortunately they said the mold would be $30,000.00 and unless there was more demand they could not afford to reproduce it. Luckily my seals probably can hold out a little longer. As for your car being a 1972 it might be more popular so they might want to reproduce it. I would give them a call if you have a chance, I was talking to Eddie.
Good luck with your project,
Noel

Check out Einstyn.com. He makes a bunch of stuff for wagons and has the correct vent window seals. A Wagon is the same as 4 door from the front doors forwsrd. I have bought some other parts from him for my 68 Vista and it was good quality.
