Power seat, motor runs but seat does not move

'75 Delta 88, you can hear the seat motor run but the seat does not move. Do these use a cable to move the seats? What should I look for?

In which directions, or does it do it in all directions?

Sounds like a bad cable or a bad clutch.

The Fisher Body Manual has full repair information - you can download a copy of the 1970 manual (the seat mechanism is all the same) at WildAboutCars.

It could just be electrical - if the current is energizing the motor relay and the motor, but not getting to the clutch solenoids.

I'd flip the seat over and take a look to see what the connections and terminals look like.
