1968 442 silver dash trim
I am in the process of restoring the dash on my 68 442 and I have some questions about the silver trim around the outside edge of the switch bezels and the plastic center of the dash itself. The silver is mostly worn away and I was thinking of using model paint and a brush to restore it unless someone has a better suggestion.
My questions are about what should actually have the silver trim. My dash is blue if that makes a difference. The black dash pad inserts that connect to the gauges have an inner and outer lip ring with a dip in the center. The outer ring has a trace of silver left on it but the inner rings do not. Should both have a silver edge? On the plastic dash there are raised letters by the switches indicating their purpose. Should the letters be silver or just blue like the dash? There is not a trace of silver on them now. Any help is always appreciated.
