8 track player

So I'm thinking the 8 track player in the W-30 belonged to the H/O. Is there a date code on the back of these or any code that ties it to the car itself? There are some wires hanging down behind it, that's what makes me suspicious. I'll post a pic if you need one. Let me know.

8 track

Only way to tell the year is if the paper sticker is still stuck on the chassis of the player. Will be on the rear edge. The first digit is the year. 03BT411 is for a 70. 93BT411 would be a 1969. The 3 is for Oldsmobile by the way. These same players were used in BOP and chevy as well as Cadillac. Just had different housings, ***** etc.

Thanks for the reply there Randy. I'm going out to check now. I did knock a paper sticker off the one that says "Delco Stereo" while I was cleaning the other night...and yes, I was being careful. I should probably find out how to reattach properly. Right now it is sitting in the ashtray.

Note to self: when diving in search of stereo ID, always check easier passenger side for tag first.

Here it is:

that would appear to be from a 71 A Body olds, so not from the H/O. the radios for 69 H/O'S were mostly AM units some f/m stereo and some f/m mono (those didnt have the plug in adapter that mounts in the glove box) back in 69 if you wanted to listen the rolling stones you would be listening on A/M

This was just from the 8 track player. My wife talked to my mother in law and found out that he did indeed add the 8 track a while later. So it wasn't from the H/O as I had originally thought. Hmmm...

As for the radio, I'm guessing the one that is in it is original. But I'd really have to get up in there to find that code.

I dove back under....here is what I found on the radio and the one with the broken label was from under the separate part that says "Delco Stereo", maybe an amplifier?:

Oops, figured a few more pics necessary for clarification: The other half of that label on the "Delco Stereo" part and also a pic of the whole setup.

So is the radio above from the Hurst Olds then? It has a 93AFM3 Service Model No. Nice low serial number too.

FYI, That AM FM is not original to the car. Maybe that was already covered, I didn't look at all of the thread. Not trying to pick on your car in any way, just letting you know.

Oh I know you aren't trying to do that. No problem. I appreciate the feedback. But it is from an Oldsmobile, so that has to count for something.

Have another audio question and figured I'd post in the same thread. Out of curiosity: This windshield antenna, was this one of the first ones offered in an Olds? Seems really early to me, but I could be wrong.

69 was the last year on the fender for the Cutlass and 442. Not sure about other models.
