79 H/O need help chasing a wire down.

My 79 H/O needed a new headlight wiring harness when I got it. I was able to get one for a 78 Regal. With a little splicing I was able to get all the lights to work. When I swapped out the harness I found a extra wire on the H/O harness that was cut and not sure where it went. Could anyone help me chase it down?
It is brown and has a factory spade connecter about 6-8 inches from the firewall plug. That is paired with another brown and blue wire from the plug.

Thanks Doug

Sounds like the underhood lamp connector. Does it have power when the running lights are turned on?

Can you say DUH. I have been looking at this thing for almost 2 years and didnt even relize there wasnt a wire to it. Looks like it just pulled right out of the connector at the lamp.
I never did like chasin electrical gremlins.

Thanks

Yep, I was about to make that same suggestion on where the wire goes, I followed mine to it as well.

Well done, looks like you've got it solved
