Lightning Rods Repair/Rebuild Service

I have had quite a few requests over the years to repair and rebuild Lightning Rods shifters so I am making my services available to those needing their shifter repaired or rebuilt to function properly again.
As long as your shifter is complete and not missing any parts I can get it to function like new again.

Mechanical refurbishing service: includes cleaning of all mechanical parts, new rod cables, clip and set screw replacement as needed, worn pin channels and cam journals narrowed on the rods to eliminate slop, proper adjustment.

Cosmetic refurbishing includes: polishing of all chrome and ****, stripping, neutralizing and bluing of base and pawl. High speed polishing of mechanical moving parts.
All mechanical work guranteed for as long as you own your car.
Repair welding of broken gate pins also available $50 each, inquire with needs.

Inquire via PM and I can quote my services to you based on your needs.
Thanks!

Lubrication and being gentle with them during operation is all I suggest.
And make sure your cable is not corroded or worn...

OK, I popped the top off, *(funny: but the far right "button" didn't wanna unscrew tho*).

Anyway, I lubed it all up with a needle oilier, "everything seems fine".
Thanks for the tip !

Nothing a different detent which would need to be welded, different gate, and different pivot rod can't fix. In short, you'd be better off trying to find an OD set of rods.

Thanks for the info. That’s what I thought but hoped it would be easy/simple. Found a NOS universal shifter in great shape locally for a 350/400. I currently have a 350th but have a 200r4 I’d like to eventually build and install in my 72’ Chevelle.
