Lightning Rods Help. Jammed
While shifting, the left rod got jammed and is stuck in overdrive now and button will not depress to release. Help! Any suggestions for repair? Thanks in advance.

Going to take a little investigation, and a can of wd40.
Shifter is a simple. Mechanical device.

Somewhere there is a tech bulletin on this shifter maintenance but cannot locate it.
Anyhow, I had a similar problem before when my '83 got stuck in 1st. Here's what I would look at, unscrew the button. The part that the button screws into has a little Allen head set screw which most likely came loose and moved out of adjustment. Try re-adjusting this which is all I had to due to fix my issue.
