"Hurst Equipped....
...Factory-Special Muscle Cars, Speed Parts & Legendary Race Cars." A new book by Mark Fletcher & Richard Truesdell. I started reading this book and am LOVING it. Basically a biopic about George Hurst and his '50 years of High-Performance'. I found some interesting things about the '69 H/Os:
1. It is now believed that as many as five '69 H/O convertibles were built.
2. Initially ALL '69 H/Os had their wheel centers painted Gold until it was deemed to be slowing the conversion process down so that step was eliminated. It is not known how many got the Gold wheels but it could be a dozen or more.
3. Even though they have documented an H/O transmission with the number '1922' they don't think there were 922 H/Os made, rather several defective transmissions were replaced pre-delivery throughout the run. From their latest research the number was 906 coupes and 5 convertibles for a total of 911.
