Two 1969 H/O's at BJ Palm Springs Auction

There are several H/O's at auction in the BJ Palm Springs auction going on now, should be interesting to see what they go for...

Lot 345 1983 H/O
Lot 400 1968 H/O
Lot 646 1979 H/O (Linda Vaughns personal car)
Lot 663 1969 H/O
Lot 663.1 1969 H/O

Both the 69's look pretty good, unfortunately lot 663 has the passenger side hood scoop decal on backwards ?!?!?, as in they have two drivers side decals on the car as it is a directional decal...

I don't get it. Lot 663 went for 59.4K including buyers premium. Lot 663.1 for 88K. Check out the air cleaner.

663.1 air cleaner top was missing in the catalog photo but was correctly installed when it came up on the block. I assume the quality of 663.1 was better than 663 to account for the difference in pricing. How about the (3) Thornton restored convertibles (two '70s and a '71 non-W30 cars) that all went for $100-$117k!! Or Linda Vaughn's '79 H/O that went for $41k! That's GOT to be a record for a '79 H/O.

I'd say record indeed, it even beat out the 1968 H/O that went for $36k... Good for Linda and all, but that's an insane price for a '79 H/O. Don't get me wrong, I still like them and would like to have one some day... My call... look for some future ebay ad's for 1979 H/O's for sale where they mention "increasing value, while mentioning One recently sold for $40k + at a BJ auction"....
