Looking for an education - '69 W30 carbs?

With all the bad '68 4-spd & '70 w-30 carb threads of recent, I'm looking for a little help on value and accuracy of '69 W-30 4-speed info out there.

There is this one on eBay for starters - it states correct for W-30 4-spd & auto and H/O, same carb for all these (even H/O with A/C)? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-442-W30-...9b7642&vxp=mtr

With the 8-digit 07029254 number is this a '69 carb or a service replacement from '79?

What's the correct number & value for a '69 4-spd W30 carb?

W30 for '69 used the 7029254 for both auto & manual, H/O used 7029251 for all applications.

thinking 114th day of 69
the service replacements for these carbs were in 72 and 74 not to say there weren't other years far as replacements

Apparently so the story goes there were issues with these carbs hence 72 and 74 replacements which is what I have (74).

Service replacements go for a few hundred
original used seen all over the map 500-1000

One of the things that catches my attention with both carburetors is there is no "broadcast code". Without the two-letter broadcast code, that tells me both carburetors are service replacements.

For the carb that reads "114?" for the date code, I can't read the last number. If it is supposed to be a 9, it doesn't look like the same 9 that's in the part number. Plus, I've never seen even a service carb that starts with the number 0.

For the carb that reads 3518 for the date code, the 1 doesn't look right to me. All the carbs I've seen, the numbers are straight across, not misaligned like the 1 in the date code.

I don't know if carbs are getting restamped now or not but I guess that could be a possibility.

Without knowing what that last number is for the 114? date code, if I were looking for authenticity, I wouldn't buy either of these carbs. Just my personal opinion.

Ughh...ebay carbs again, huh? The first carb looks pretty nice. The second carb is missing the secondary lockout lever. The front fuel fitting looks like it's too short, and the idle widget at the rear of the fuel bowl is not there. It's the prob with ebay carbs. You don't know what parts are right on it. It's definitely a "cobbled" carb. I took another look, there is something definitely screwed up with the primary choke linkage, also. There is no way the pulloff will work right. It might smell like gas, but this carb isn't going to run well on your car! Look at the pic above, at the number, where the 2 punched indentations are. See how thick the casting is there, and how the radius there is gradual? Now look at the ebay carb. Does that tell you something?
