I've seen a wideband a/f gauge that that's reads both heads on one gauge. (two needles) I can't remember who makes it though but once I find it again this is my next purchase. I've tuned with my butt and a vac gauge for long enough. Now I'd like to see what the real numbers are. What would be a good a/f ratio for a 455 and a 350? or stoich as they say.

Imo this is the coolest thing ever;

And stoich is stoich, no matter what the application. As long as it's 100% fossil fuel it's 14.7:1.

Found this one but I saw another one with numbers and not lights. That's the one I want but here's the idea. I suppose you could use two sensors with a switch and one gauge also.

You definitely want one that has a digital readout. It makes it much easier to just read a number while driving.

I want to do the same thing to a street '72 CS 350 with headers.

I intend to use a dual band air/fuel meter, most likely this one.

Any advice on the best place to cut the bungs into the headers? Toward the collector?

As close to the header collector as possible, mine is mounted in the collector itself. You should also try to have it angled slightly down (end of the sensor with the wires higher) so any condensation in the pipes drips off the end of the 02 sensor.

Make sure whichever gauge you buy works off WIDEBAND sensor (Heated 6 wire iirc) not a narrow band 3 wire. Wideband is much more precise. Digital readout is the way to go for more precise information. I like the gauges that have both analog & digital readout for feedback like the AEM. That AEM phone app is sweet but I haven't evolved to smart phone yet. Hell, my flip phone is pre camera!

Put bungs in both sides of exhaust & choose which one to use if you care. Be sure to locate where brkts & linkage won't come into play. If running manifolds weld them into pipe just downstream of manifold, otherwise right in header reducer. FWIW I always use the passenger side because there is lotsa clearance. I only install sensor for monitoring & then remove, don't even have to raise car. Remember to anti sieze the sensor threads carefully but I slather it on the threaded plugs, eliminates any fighting on removal or installation.
