1966 key activated alarm.

Has anyone ever seen a key activated alarm on a 66 olds. I was wondering if this was a factory or dealer option. The key whole is located with a lock cylinder in the fender. Was this an option in the 60's. Thanks

All I've ever seen from back then were aftermarket. 72-75 Hurst/Olds could have had them, but again they were aftermarket, not GM.

It's a common aftermarket alarm. Lots of cars used to have them.

It's a simple deterrent alarm, they were big in the 70's and people bought them and pet rocks!!! It's probably a simple ignition bypass or a current sensor hooked to the cars horn or a secondary horn.
