OL 396 tri power on 324.

Hello all,
I have a 56 super 88 with the 324 engine. I am starting the process of swapping out the 4bbl and intake with an Edelbrock OL 396 and 3 Holley carbs. The carbs have just been rebuilt, linkage made. I would like to know what or where to hook up the vacuum lines that come out of the back of the 4bbl and go to the “canisters” on the sides inside the fenders. As well as the other line (vacuum??) that comes out of the fuel pump and hooks into the lines I’ve mentioned above. I’ve noticed the only “port” on the intake is on the passenger side under the center carb, and it currently is plugged with a small pipe plug. I hope someone in the group may have a setup and can share information or even some pictures. Thanks for the help.

Well never been there or done that, but the lines from the fuel pump (2) go to the wiper motor and the other powers the windshield washer squirters. The large vacuum line coming off the back of the 4 bbl goes to the brake booster under the passenger side fender. Somewhere you will need to find or make a port for the vacuum advance.

I'm assuming that 396 is a model number for the intake and not the cubic inch of the engine intake which wouldn't fit on a 324, maybe a 394 with much work might fit.... Good luck with your project..... Tedd

Yes the OL 396 is the intake model number. I’m not quite sure that everything is plumed correctly now, but one line from the back of the 4bbl goes to the brake booster, the other to a canister in the passenger side fender. I did notice tonight after investigating a issue with my current setup, the distributor line in need to account for. It seems like this would’ve been a popular swap in the day, I hope someone has seen it. Thanks for your advice.
