Unknown 4 bbl intake

This iron 4 bbl intake came with a 1969 Cutlass 350 block I recently purchased. It will get a 750 Rochester but I'm not sure about this intake. Can anyone help me understand what it is? I'm guessing mid-70s Vista Cruiser.

What specifically, if you don't mind, indicates 1969 or older? I just want to learn from the expert.

The closest thing I could find was these two. Both are different.

Next question: does the one at the very top, my rusty intake from the 69 engine I'm working on, flow enough for a Ram Rod w31 application (.308 cam, 2 in. valve heads)? OR, is the Edelbrock better flowing?

I think I will sand blast it and try it on to see what it does.

Your top picture is for what is called a divorced choke and the bottom picture is for a hot air choke.
The divorced choke spring sits inside that well and a rod goes up to the choke plate on the carburetor.
The hot air choke has a tube that sits in the exhaust crossover in the intake that heats the air in a tube that runs up to the spring housing on the side of the carburetor.
The intake, as far as flow is concerned, is the same as the W31 intake, it's just not aluminum. So I would think it would be fine for the W31 cam.
There are better intakes, but if you're on a budget then just run it.

The choke mounting well is the giveaway. 1969 and older (your first picture) used a divorced style choke with a bimetallic coil that mounted to the square-ish well on the intake exhaust crossover.

1970 and later used an integral choke that was mounted to the side of the carb and had a U shaped heater tube that inserted into the exhaust crossover passage. Your second picture shows the top of the heater tube assembly, with two holes for the connections to the carb.

I'm fairly sure the original W-31 intake was the same as the iron one, just made out of aluminum, so they would both flow the same. If you want better flow, go with a Performer RPM, especially with a high RPM cam like that.

68/69 W31 intakes were cast iron. Aluminum not used on W cars until '70.

There's no mystery here. This is casting no. 389663, as noted in Post #3, used on every single 4bbl 350 Olds motor built in the 1968 and 69 model years. The casting number is located behind the carb, between the brass fitting and the power brake hose fitting.

Thank you Joe. I followed the link to the intake thread and found an exact match: 68-69 350 cid including W31. I see how the choke area is a little different from the 66-67 version. Thanks everybody for your forum replies.
