Heater box restore

Well I got my 67 442 fired for the first time the other day, hadn't been on the road since the late 70's Anyhow my heater core started to leak, so I got that out today. All the foam on the blend doors and mode doors is just coming a part, more mouse **** in there than anything. Well I might as well blast and it and paint all that. I tried driving out the blend door pins and came to find out the pins appear to be welded to the door and then the heater box was spot welded together afterwards???? Reason I say is the middle door (non AC car) broke one of the spot welds on the box because the door was starting to split it. How would I even replace the door foam if this is the case? Any other suggestions on restoring this heater box would be really appreciated.
