1965 f85 AC ice

Hey guys, my f85 is experiencing an issue where the AC input line before the evaporator is icing up (along the suction throttling valve). My AC is quite hot and I'm driving this car around in the Florida summer. The car has a full charge of r12a (Freez12). I noticed that a vacuum nipple had broken off the white vacuum canister on the blower housing, does this have anything to do with the suction throttling valve or the airflow accross the evaporator?

If my stv is what is causing the issue, how can I go about testing it for proper function?
Thanks,
Dan

Didn't know there were two lines to this, but I guess I now know where that loose vacuum line goes. I'll try to repair the broken off center nipple
Ice appears all along the circled line, is this the output of the evaporator? If so then I bet the issue is my air door not opening.

Icing up sounds like either a low refrigerant charge or a restriction in the line.
