70-72 Cutlass Trunk Lids ?

How many different trunk lids are made for 70-72 Cutlass? I see postings for convertible or Supreme but aren't the convertibles rounded on top side and Supreme has sharp corner? The we also have the Cutlass Fastback style also correct? So I count three. Are some people just confused about Supreme/ Convertible. Has anyone ever rounded off a Supremes to use on a convertible?

Thanks

Yep, a fella in the local Olds club did this many years ago for his 71 Supreme convertible. He said welding and finishing the edge was quite a job.

Well, to be technically correct:

Town Sedan, Holiday Sedan, and Convertible (xx39, xx69, and xx67 body codes)
Supreme Holiday Coupe (xx57 body code)
Sport Coupe and Holiday Coupe (xx77 and xx87 body codes)

Keep in mind that the Supreme could have come as a four door, convertible, or notchback coupe. Not all Supremes used the same trunk lid.

The Vert is definitely rounded ! And that would be the same for all Supremes, 442's and SX's since they are all the same body for the convertible 70/72. Not to be redundant !

Also, to be yet more technically precise, the part numbers are many more than that due to emblems. The 4 door, Cutlass Supreme convert, and 442 Convert used the same lid, but with different trim holes.

Well, yes and no. The replacement lids came without holes drilled, so there were only three P/Ns:

9877968 - 4257 body (Supreme notchback)
9852222 - More doors and Convertibles
9852218 - all 2drs except 4257 or convert.

Now, on the assembly line, these were drilled in the different patterns, presumably using "make from" drawings, and as such would each have unique P/Ns.

Good point, but I would think they were pierced in stamping.

Interesting, I have I guess a Supreme lid then with aftermarket wing . The lid was NOS in 80s and painted poorly yellow , then car was wrecked a short time later the last owner said. Am going to sell trunk lid so was wondering if any body guys have ever rounded off corners to make it fit a Convertible if someone needed ?

Thanks for all the great info guys

I wonder what spoiler it has on it? I don't think the 72 H/O even had a spoiler.

You're correct. None of the 72 Cutlass offerings included the deck wing as an RPO It was cancelled 3/31/71

Are there three bolts on each side holding the wing on or two on each side? I think the repops used two.
