Oil restrictors?

So, this is what i have going on. I have two olds 455s. One is a later model Fa block with a later model small cn crankshaft, with full groove clevite main bearings, stock rods with TRW pistons. It has cam bearing oil restrictors and regular style cam bearings. It has a Joe Mondello cam JM 25-28 hydraulic flat tappet cam and spec’d lifters. Joe Mondello restricted push rods and scorpion rocker arms. Also has E heads, Torker and a Holley 950 carb. This engine runs great, can’t kill it. Ive had this mill for 4 years and everytime i drive it it gets run HARD.
My other 455 is more race oriented. Older model F block, large N crank, clevite full grooved bearings and big clearences on the journals , 4 thou. Eagle rods with Icon flat tops. No cam bearing restrictors with back grooved cam bearings clocked accordingly. Cam motion solid roller .609/254 -.586/258 with Crower 66294H lifters , no lifter bore restrictors, unrestricted pushrods, Jesel shaft rockers. This engine gets about 15 minutes out of a set of rod bearings. So is the guy who wrote the book wrong? I’m thinking that restrictors are the only way to go with a set up like this

Do you have a high volume oil pump? What weight oil do you use? What is your oil pressure?
