Wipers won't park

Wipers won't park

67 Cutlass. What would cause my wipers not to park when turned off at the switch? Motor? Switch? Thanks.

Park relay, relay contacts, or wire to the relay.

Yes, and it is actually a solenoid that both operates electrical contacts and moves the tab that engages the park actuator. It is the white unit at the bottom of this photo:



Here is the relay by itself (yes, this one has the terminals in a different location than the one in the photo above):

Out of curiosity does the wiper run off the windshield on the drivers side and unto the chrome strip?

No, runs normal, just doesn't stop at bottom when shut off.

Very simple fix. Unit was not grounded. Failed to put a washer over the mount with the brass ground. D'oh!
