67 Delmont 88 ignition switch

Looking up under the instrument panel, there appears to be a metal cover over the plug in side of the ignition switch. In order to unplug the harness from the switch, is there a specific way to remove the cover? It seems like there are 3 tabs holding the cover to the switch. It is hard for me to see up close wearing tri-focals, so any help is appreciated.

I'm not used to seeing a metal cover. But the three plastic tangs that clip in are hard to get off. Be sure your relaxed before working on it so if you start getting stressed you won't break them off. Don't ask me how I know

Can you add a picture to your thread?

There's no cover shown in either the Chassis Service Manual or the Assembly Manual. Are you possibly seeing the holder for the ignition switch lamp?
