1985 DELTA 88 SEDAN

I HAVE STARTED TO ATTEMPT TO GET THE ENGINE RUNNING SMOOTHLY, BY CLEANING GAS TANK, LINE AND FILTER WITH SOME IMPROVEMENT. HOWEVER, MANY OF THE SMALLER SIZED VACUUM LINES THAT CRISS-CROSS THE ENGINE HAVE DETERIORATED AND I REPLACED SEVERAL WHERE IT WAS EASY TO CONNECT BOTH ENDS, BUT A FEW RESULTED IN A GOOD GUESS ON MY PART. THE CHILTONS ONLINE DIAGRAM IS WOEFULLY INADEQUATE IN DETAILS. IS THERE ANOTHER PLACE TO FIND THE 'SCHEMATICS' OF THE VACUUM LINES. I HAVE GOTTEN SOME NICE IMPROVEMENT SO FAR, BUT I STILL HAVE A ROUGH IDLE. HELP PLEASE??

The best piece of documentation you can have is the 1985 Chassis Service Manual... It will have all your vacuum diagrams and much more...

There is one on Ebay for $8.26 Buy It Now : http://www.ebay.com/itm/General-Moto...JZNDG7&vxp=mtr

The photo below is one from my library:

I've owned four of these cars now and have the CSMs for about all of the 1980s versions, and in fairness to the OP, the factory vacuum diagrams suck. The decal under the hood is actually the best one to follow, and even it is difficult to trace. The biggest problem is that the schematics on that decal and in the manual show the baseline (no options) configuration. Unfortunately, nearly every one of these came with A/C and cruise, which complicates the plumbing and is not shown on the diagrams.

thanks for the input, guys. I have ordered a couple of manuals for the car and will continue pecking away at it until frustration sets in!
