Question 70 Cutlass Convertible Top Cylinder Replacement/Install

Greetings,

Not one but both of the convertible top cylinders is leaking. The top goes down without much of a problem, but going back up, the top needs a good deal of help. I have already ordered new convertible top cylinders and am reasonably sure I can tackle their installation myself however if anyone could give some instruction or advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

I know to use ATF fluid when refilling the pump, and to have plenty of rags handy too.

The only thing I am uncertain about is removing the rear arm rests, I have removed the back seat to refill the pump in the past, but have not taken off the arm rests - how easy or complicated of a task is it?

The side panels and arm rests are held on with several philips head screws and are simple to remove.
