1967 442 Shoulder Belt Saddle Location

I'm installing shoulder belts on a '67 that did not come with them. Does anyone have installation instructions for the clips or saddles that hold the shoulder belt buckles that would show the correct location? I believe they go on the rear well or ash well covers but do not know where.

If anyone has a '67 that came with them from the factory would you please post a picture of them?

Thank you.

Nope. They bolt to the roof rail just like the 68-72 cars. Since these were factory optional, the hard points for attachment are already there. See the 1967 Fisher Body Manual pages 15-59 and 15-60.

Ok, so the hard points for the end of the strap that stays bolted on are there, and the hard points for the steel clip at about where the vent window frame points into the roof rail are also there and it's just find the hole?

Also, on the latter cars (68-71), before they went to the keyhole tab and clipped the shoulder belt into it, the buckle side of the shoulder belt was on the seat part. But, on the 66/67, was the buckle on the upper roof part and then they reversed it with a model change?

He's asking about where the clip/saddle mounts that the buckle rests when not in use,not the roof anchor.

You're right, sorry about that. The info is still in the FBM, however.

Thank you for that.

That page is for convertibles though, this one is for two and four doors. As you can see the location of the clip in the illustration cannot be correct as it is in the window crank clearance zone which of course is not in the illustration.

I belive the correct location is lower and on the ash/well cover. Also, 66-3X2 442 has shared with me that he has some factory literature that calls for the saddle to be mounted horizontally.
