We are trying to find the stock color of the transmission pan on a 1969 442?

Manifold, valve covers, heads, block, water pump, balancer, oil filter housing and oil pan were all painted the same color at the same time. A 1969 442 oil pan would be bronze. Unless it's a Hurst then it would be red.

He wants to know about the transmission pan. It should be the natural steel color.

Actually...no, but you would think that. I put an NOS pan on my car maybe 6 yrs ago. It's been driven THOUSANDS of miles, in many raging down pours. I drove it 4 HOURS last year in rain so bad you couldn't see the highway. That pan is not showing any signs of rust. When I got it, was like coated with something from GM, like a varnish or something.
