E3 plugs

Anyone tried them? I have a set but not sure about installing them, quite a few failure stories out there.

I tried them on my 76 smog 350 and didn't find them as good as the Ac-delco's. I emailed E3 and asked them why they just didn't make the car idle as good as the Delco's ,he told me they should, if I'm not happy with them then go back to the Delco's LOL.
No friendly support at that end haha.
It could just be my smog 350, I dunno!
I hope this helps.

Eric, same thing I've read, poor idle and also some tip failures. Most likely I'll put auto lite 's back in. Thanks,

I have used AC Delco Rapid Fire Platinums, Bosch Platinums, Autolite Copper, AC Delco Copper and NGK Copper in Olds V8's. The NGK idle the smoothest, the rest are similar since the Autolite and Delco's come from across the ocean. I may go AC Delco since NGK plugs are harder to find locally.

I prefer the old style plugs, the E3's may work fine on newer cars.

I just bought 24 of them plus a few other items to total over $99.00 just to get the free shipping haha, off of the Dorman site ( Parts Monkey) NGK XR45 and had them shipped to my door, They are out of Etobicoke here in Ontario.
Not the greatest Customer Service but ...
I hope this helps

If you can't find any NGK'S, I can send 8 out your way no problem, I will still have 16 left for myself. Just PM me your address and I'll have my wife send them to you.

The E3's ground electrode design seems to "shield" the arc from the combustion chamber more than most plugs. This will likely not be an advantage. I also don't like the lack of gap adjustability.

Thanks Eric, I think there may be 8 NGK XR45 plugs in my tool box. I also have Bosch Platinum in there, some Champions, Autolite's and AC Delco's. If you had some XR5 plugs, I would take you up on it. I have 7 of those and think they may work better with my 9 to 1 compression and the ton of part throttle timing I may run. Cutlassefi's custom cam may help keep detonation at bay, having 217/223 duration, so maybe the XR45's I have will work.

E3 plugs

O'Reilly Auto parts carries NGK Plugs. I had E3 plugs in my 88 Mustang and took them out cuz the 4 banger seemed to lose power. Installed Autolite plugs and didn't notice a difference. Have E3 plugs in the 69 442 and it ran great.

Everything I've heard and read concerning e3 plugs says the same thing. They're good plugs for high revving, high compression engines. On a low compression pavement crawler, they're rubbish.
