1969 Cutlass S 455 with headers exhaust system question

Hello and thanks for taking time to read this. I am putting a 455 in my 1969 Cutlass S convertible, and this is my first experience with this type of project. Question, which exhaust system ( dual with crossover ) is recommended for the least issue with ground clearance? The car will set at a stock height, with new springs installed. If I haven't provided enough information, please let me know, like I said, this is my first project of this type.

Thanks!

Dave

I chose Hooker headers with a Dynomax H pipe. I have new springs installed that sit the car a standard ride height. Ground clearance looks to be pretty decent and the pipes seem to be relatively level all the way to the mufflers. I'll try to get a pic from the side that shows the clearances.

Others will probably have different combos they are happy with...

Thanks 1968 Post, I have Hedman long tube headers if that is a factor regards my question. What size is your header output, did you use merge collectors, what diameter is your exhaust? Thanks!

when i had headers on my 69 455 they were blackjacks with a 3'' collector with 3'' exhaust head to tail pipe i did not have a H set up so i'm not sure how much that will affect ground clearance (shouldnt) the only clearance problems were a little scraping of the header collector flange over a speed bump and the tail pipes ran pretty close to the iinside of the rear tires

The 3902's are 1.75 tubes into a 3 inch collector that bolts to a 3 inch to 2 1/2 inch reducer that continues to the 2 1/2 inch H-pipe.

The only experience I have with Hedman's are the headers that were on the car when I bought it. At that time it had a 350 in it. To me, the headers seemed just slightly closer to the ground, but that was 3 years ago, and these days I have trouble remembering breakfast!
