What are these parts?

Can someone help identify these parts. They are from a 69 442 conv, which I did not take apart but I am putting back together. The 1st pic shows parts which I believe are only used on a conv. 2nd pic maybe a cable hold-down? Both parts are about 1 to 1 1/2 inches. If someone can tell me what these parts are for and where they belong I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Rob

Picture 1 looks like conv door pillar plates. Mount above door latch. Part 2 is a clutch fork ball retainer clip that appears to be broken off or rivot removed. Those are my guesses.

I think you're probably right about #2, Joe, but the first thing I thought of when I saw it was the retainer that holds the ball of the rearview mirror, up under the rubber piece that holds the visor ends.

Pic #1 is of door pillar alignment plates. They look just like the ones I took off my '67 Delta convertible and installed on my '67 coupe.

FYI

Pic 1 the brass part goes on the door pillar with 2 small phillips head screws, the chrome goes on the door and will hook over the door panel. The other part looks to be for the rear view mirror. It hooks into the underside of the windshield frame.

Guarantee those are what I call anti rattle shims used on the 1968-72 G.M. A body convertibles, & maybe earlier A bodies also. Pretty sure the big cars used a slightly different looking set up. Also guarantee the second part is used to hold the rear view mirror in its socket.

Thanks, So the door jam shims are only used on a conv because of body flex? And when the door is closed will the shims butt against each other? As soon as I get a chance to shovel a path to the garage I just want to confirm that mirror bracket fits
Thanks very much!

Yup, ball joint retainer part thingy on a rear view mirror. It very closely matches my 1968.

Here is how it looks on the whole mirror assembly.

I guess you can be excused, Joe, seeing as how you just spent the weekend installing the clutch, bell housing, and trans, and staring at that darned linkage clip the whole time .

Some also call pic one a wedge set up...for the doors...if the chrome piece doesn't jam onto the brass piece when the door is closed then you put rectangular shims under the brass piece until interference is achieved...
