What does the emblem mean for a 1964 Cutlass
Since finishing up the rebuild of my 64 Cutlass. I always wondered what the front and door panel emblems symbolized? Oldsmobile has always had a rocket for their logo, can't figure out what the "T" emblem means?
Any answers out there would sure help.
Thanks

That emblem was used on the 1961-64 cars. Interestingly, the 62 F-85 has this logo on the grill and tailgate and the late 50s rocket on the quarters.

Yes, but OP wonders the "meaning" behind it. I'm not sure. Doesn't look like anything related to the words F85 or cutlass to me. Might look like a jet fighter if turned 90 degrees.
Maybe just a nice mod shape that marketing came up with.

I believe its related to the original Oldsmobile Logo "Winged Spur" of 20's to 50's and older, but more stylized. They used this again with the last generation of Olds with the inverted spur/rocket breaking out of the oval.
