Unknown Part Identification

Looking for information on this part. Found it in the bag of transmission linkage parts but don't know where it should be installed. It has been over 5 years since I disassembled the car and the mind is not what it used to be.

Any help appreciated.

Jay

Also looks like the bracket that holds the power brake hose in position and uses a bolt that holds the valve/rocker cover on, driver side.
If you look at the pictures of the 66 in the link below you will see it on my engine.

Mike,

I see what you are talking about but it looks as if yours has a couple of bends. Mine is a flat piece and therefore wouldn't bolt up to the valve cover. The larger hole matches up with the plastic bearing for the trans shift linkage but there is not where in that area to bolt it up???

ive learned over the years, just because its in the bag or box, doesnt mean it belongs to anything. people add stuff to cars etc, but just because you have it doesnt mean it belongs to that sub assy...

i have no clue what is is, but put it up, and it will become needed...

Thanks Mark. I am saving everything that was replaced. Figure one day someone might need an original.

DING! DING! DING!

We have a winner. Shown in the Assembly Manual and in the CSM.
