Original calipers and frame components color
Disassembling a bunch of stuff and taking front brakes apart. 1970 442 w-30, Everything is pretty rusty and has to be refinished or replaced. The front disc brake calipers seem to be the original Delco. I have rebuilt many of these in my younger days and I am wondering if these are worth putting the time and effort into restoring or just get new ones? Are there replacement parts available for these (pistons, bleeders and rebuild kits) Is there one supplier that is better than the other? Should I just get some new ones?
Is there a reference for what color and finish specific parts were originally painted? (spindles, backing plates, sway bars, clips, steering linkage etc...)

When I converted to front discs on the 67, I went to the parts house I believe NAPA and asked specifically for GM rebuilt calipers no other. I was willing to wait if they would check the boxes when their re-stocking orders came in. Took about 30 days and a few Starbucks gift cards!! Just an idea...

As far as calipers are concerned I have had a bunch rebuilt recently. The part number for the 1970 model is 5463 636/ 5463 637.
They are cast iron coloured from the factory.
Local parts stores will give you blank Cardone brand most likely.
I have several 1970 caliper sets available, along with 1971-72.
