neutral safety switch 1971
Hello, I am running into a problem adjusting the neutral safety switch on a 1971 cutlass supreme with a dual gate shifter. The switch is mounted to the steering column and I replaced it but I have not been able to get it to start in park and neutral. I set it one way and it will only start in neutral. I reset it another way and it starts in park and drive! I have tried reading the other posts here but I cannot find a posting to help me out... What am I doing wrong and how can I set it properly?

If it was starting up fine in park and neutral prior to me changing the NSS shouldn't the back drive linkage stay adjusted or does it throw it out of tolerance and removing the NSS?
