68 Cutlass Carb Choke Thermostat - 2V
I have a 1968 Cutlass 350 2V. I need to replace the Carb Choke Thermostat. Is this the correct one? as it only list the 4V? Standard Motor Products CV136. Picture of current part is attached. Thanks! https://www.summitracing.com/parts/s...iABEgISovD_BwE

I can't imagine why they'd use a different thermostat spring on a 2V vs a 4V. The part on SMP's and Summit's sites looks like it'll work. Might be a $16 gamble.
You might also post in the parts wanted section, I imagine there are a bunch of 2V carbs that have been pulled off when converting to a 4V intake / carb that are laying around.

I'll tell you why. The choke thermostat spring on the 2GC carbs is coiled in the opposite direction from the one on the Qjets - at least until the mid-70s when the 2GC choke linkage was changed. Be careful, some vendors show the later choke coils as working on the early 2GC carbs. They do not.

We actually had a similar discussion about this a couple of months ago in this thread.
