455 in a 1956 oldsmobile info needed

Im still about a year out on putting a 455 into my 1956 oldsmobile..but i figured i better get researching now..has anyone out there done it annnd do you have any info or diagrams or articles that i can get sooo when i take it in to get done i have some sort of roadmap...thanks shane at cobalt1967@live.com

Due to the different mounting of the two engines, this is not a particularly easy swap. Cittcap put a 455 in his 57 and I imagine he will speak up,

cool

that would be sooo nice...i got my car about a year and a half ago from a old couple...her husband had got a 455 and a trans because the original engine was gone..and im pretty sure he had plans of making it a torque machien..i will still have to have all that rebuilt..but just getting my head wrapped around how its done...thanks

I got to ride in Pat's "torque machine" a few years ago when we met up in Tacoma. It is definitely a cool car.

Hi Colbalt,

thanks for the info..i downloaded it all and put it in a folder on my desktop..being i wont be the one doing the engine a trans install when i get to that part in a year or so..now i can take this stuff to the guy who will be doing it..i can do bodywork and supension ect...BUT this stuff blows my mind..thanks...hey while i have you here..have you done anything to update your power brakes..im going to do disks on the front and seen people who have installed a different brake pedal ect...thanks
