350 Main bearing question

I am curious why they call bearings "undersize" ( I had my crank ground .010 ) are they not actually "oversize" as now the journal is "smaller" which means you need a thicker ( oversize?) bearing.....
edumacate me.....

I guess it is because the crank is now undersized and needs bearings for the undersize...

The definition of undersize is smaller than normal so now that you have undersized your crank you need bearings for an undersized crank.

The important dimension on the bearing is the ID of the hole that the crank journal spins in. The hole is smaller, hence "undersize".
